File-AID/RDX release 04.05.00 File-AID/RDX product release 04.05.00 is now generally available. New components included in this release are: Expanded Data Privacy Management via File-AID/EPDM: The integration of File-AID/Enterprise Data Privacy Manager (File-AID/EDPM) begins with the centralised storage of Data Privacy specifications in Release 1.0. Future capabilities will allow Security Administrators and other users to control, enforce and audit the coverage of data privacy techniques for both in-house or out-sourced application development and testing from a centralised workbench. DB2 Version 9 Currency: File-AID/RDX Release 4.5 executes in a DB2 Version 9 environment either in compatibility mode or in new function mode. Support of Relative Generation Numbers for GDG File Types: File-AID/RDX now supports relative GDG numbers in addition to the G0000V00 (i.e. .G0001V00) hard coded number for physical sequential files. Only SMS based GDGs are supported. Update Saved Extract Request: Now File-AID/RDX provides functionality to optionally update saved extract requests when the relationship information in the relationship file has changed. Support for ODOs and REFER: File-AID/RDX has been enhanced to support ODOs (COBOL) and REFER (PL1) in Selection Criteria and Change Criteria when handling VSAM and IAM files. NEW! File-AID/Data Solutions product release 04.01.00 File-AID/Data Solutions product release 04.01.00 is now generally available. New components included in this release are: File-AID/Enterprise Data Privacy Manager (EPDM): File-AID/Data Solutions Release 4.1 introduces File-AID/EDPM, a common data privacy management and repository component for Compuware's File and Data Management product line. The objective of this component is to simplify the creation, management, enforcement and auditing of test data privacy rules from a centralised workbench. File-AID/EDPM is ordered and installed separately from File-AID/Data Solutions. When File-AID/EDPM has been installed and included in the File-AID/Data Solutions install, it is available to File-AID/Data Solutions users to store change criteria. Each time you save change criteria, you can store the criteria in the File-AID/EDPM Repository or to a PDS. When File-AID/EDPM is not installed, you can only store criteria to a PDS. IMPORT Command: A new primary command, IMPORT, is available to import change criteria from a PDS or the File-AID/EDPM Repository. The IMPORT command is valid from within the Change Criteria screens, but not from the Selection Criteria screen. IMPORT allows you to select a criteria member to import, and then select the sets within that member to be inserted. If all the sets within a member are to be inserted, then all the sets must be selected. NEW! File-AID Tip: Modifying System Defaults Option 0.1 with File-AID for MVS allows the user to modify System defaults. One of the most commonly changed system default is the "Enable Screen Jumps within File-AID" parameter. This parameter controls the action of the "=" or jump command. There are two options available for this parameter, "Y" and "N". The default shipped with File-AID for MVS is "N". Many experienced File-AID users have found it very helpful to change this default setting to "Y". Here's how it works: If a user were to have the Jump parameter set to "Y", and issue the =3.5 jump command while using the File-AID product, the user would be taken directly to File-AID's 3.5 VSAM utility. If the user issued the same jump command within File-AID when the Jump parameter is set to the default of "N", the user would be taken out of File-AID and into ISPF's Reset Statistics utility (not a good place to be if you are planning on allocating a VSAM file). With the Jump parameter set to "Y", the user may still jump to ISPF functions by using the command =X;function where the ";" is the command delimiter and "function" is where you want to jump to in ISPF. Abend-AID Tip: One Stop Shopping Did you know that you can use one version of Abend-AID to view batch, IMS and CICS abends? Abend-AID aficionados have always been after us to incorporate batch and CICS abends into one easy to use viewing portal - without losing any functionality! And with our current releases, Abend-AID 10.2 and Abend-AID 5.2, we have made available the Abend-AID Viewer. This enhanced version of our CICS Viewing Server now supports both batch and CICS reports. This offers the following benefits to sites that have both products:
The most important aspect of the Abend-AID Viewer is that no functionality is lost from the previous viewers.
