New Uniface APS service pack includes free development licences

Available since February, release 8.4.05 of the Uniface Application Platform Suite (APS) provides a single environment for modelling, building and deploying complex hybrid applications and business processes, as well as a step-by-step tutorial guide to help you get started with the Uniface APS. Current Uniface users can request the latest service pack – and free development licences for Uniface Flow and Uniface View, which are components of the APS – from their regular Compuware sales or support channel.

Uniface 9.1 in the media spotlight

Launched at CU2006 in November, Uniface 9.1 has been enjoying positive press coverage across the globe. In the UK, The Register describes Uniface as ‘a popular development tool with a loyal user base’ in its article about Uniface support for Microsoft Vista. Tip from the Lab: Improve the performance of your OptimalJ application

Compuware’s OptimalJ development lead, Andre Iltchenko, shares a top tip for building high-performance, web-based applications in this month’s issue of Compuware’s Application Delivery Management newsletter. Iltchenko notes that OptimalJ’s support for feature-rich web front ends means that some developers may end up writing applications that place a heavy workload of business logic processing on the middle tier. He shows a way to get round this, by preventing the OptimalJ application from having to re-retrieve large datasets.
