  Welcome from Pete Summers

Welcome to the March 2007 issue of Compuware Insight, the monthly newsletter for Compuware customers.

In this issue we bring you News of Compuware’s recent strong financial results and review some of the milestones achieved during the third quarter.

In the Development section, you can find out about the new Uniface Application Platform Suite, see what the world’s press is saying about Uniface 9.1 and learn about requirements-driven testing in our new webcast. OptimalJ users, meanwhile, will find a handy tip for increasing the performance of OptimalJ applications.

In the Quality section, we bring you news of Compuware’s new Quality Management solution, helping you to take QA to the next level across your organisation. You can read about our new service and view an on-demand webcast with top tips for improving software quality through repeatable processes. Finally, a new service pack for TestPartner 5.6.0 adds support for Internet Explorer 7.0 and VBA 6.5.

The focus is on end-user experience monitoring in this month’s Performance section, with a free demo CD that will show you how to identify and fix application performance problems on the user side. For anyone currently considering migrating applications from a LAN to a WAN, we reveal how one major law firm managed the transition with no loss of performance. And we look at the pros and cons of moving to enterprise IP telephony, in a new opinion piece.

Finally, in the Enterprise section, we return to the critical topic of data security and the risks posed by authorised and unauthorised internal users. A wealth of new materials will help you assess and address the risks to your own organisation. We also show how you can safely reduce IT costs through the more efficient management of MIPS consumption, with a new brochure outlining our MIPS management solutions.

As always, I hope that you enjoy this issue of Insight and find it useful. We would love to receive your feedback, comments and questions, so please don’t hesitate to email us here.

Best wishes

Pete Summers, EMEA Marketing Director
