Welcome from Irene Dawson |

Dear reader,
This month we have a special announcement for those of you who are interested in the Eclipse open source development platform – or rather two announcements rolled into one. As well as providing full Eclipse support in OptimalJ 4.1, we’re leading project Corona, an industry initiative designed to improve integration of Eclipse tools within a multi-vendor environment.
A theme of quality runs through this issue. There’s a webcast discussing the role of collaboration (as enabled by tools like CARS) in maximising quality, plus a Gartner paper suggesting ways to measure the value of collaboration. We invite you to take part in an online assessment of your organisation against Compuware’s Quality Maturity Model™.
Please don’t forget to let us have your feedback, by clicking
here – we look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes

Irene Dawson, Senior Vice President, EMEA.

Communication: the key to application quality
Speakers from Compuware and HP discuss, with real-life examples, how collaborative techniques can improve quality. For example, users, testers and technical support teams should all help developers plan and prioritise testing. |
 |
Measuring the value of collaboration
When you invest in tools or processes to facilitate collaboration, you expect both tangible benefits, like productivity improvements and less tangible ones, like new ideas to drive the business forward. Some of these returns are hard to measure, but quantification is as essential as with any other investment. |
