European companies taking head-in-sand approach to VoIP

Almost three-quarters of companies believe that network performance is critical to the success of VoIP telephony in the enterprise, but only 8% are putting the tools and infrastructure in place to monitor it proactively. This was the headline finding of a study of 320 European IT directors conducted for Compuware in October 2006 by research firm Vanson Bourne. The inability to monitor individual call performance is resulting in many firms simply paying for more bandwidth when networks fail to deliver – a costly approach to fixing a problem that could be avoided in the first place with adequate network performance monitoring. Find out how your peers are approaching the challenge of VoIP service levels in our research summary.

Listen to our 37-minute webcast to find out how Tracey implemented Compuware’s Vantage solution to ensure that any performance issues are identified and fixed proactively – often before the firm’s lawyers even notice anything is amiss.

Our featured opinion article this month examines the performance issues that law firms commonly need to overcome. It reveals how one major law firm used Compuware tools to implement proactive end-user experience monitoring and thus to identify and rectify problems before the firm’s lawyers even notice anything is wrong.
