ATOS Origin revolutionises QA with Test Factory approach

With software testing accounting for up to 35% of the entire software development and management life cycle, it is no surprise that large IT services companies want to make it more efficient, but without compromising on application quality. With this in mind, international IT services company ATOS Origin has taken a revolutionary approach to software testing, by ‘industrialising’ and standardising testing activities across its entire worldwide operation. Using Compuware’s Test Factory solution, ATOS Origin will introduce standard testing tools and processes for all of its local and offshore development teams, enabling faster and more effective testing, and allowing clients to follow the QA process more closely. This innovative Test Factory model will be rolled out initially in the UK, Spain and France, with the rest of the world to follow shortly.

Leading analyst firm Ovum has confirmed Compuware’s position as the strongest overall performer across its sector, in its recent paper ‘Summary of the Software Testing Tools Evaluations’. The evaluations covered all leading vendors whose sales represent 90% or more of the commercial test automation tools market, including HP (Mercury), IBM Rational, Borland (Segue), Empirix and Parasoft. Compuware was regarded as strongest overall in both scope of support and strength across features, against Ovum’s model of test tool evaluation.
