NEWS AND VIEWS FOR COMPUWARE CUSTOMERS

  Welcome from Pete Summers

Welcome to the September issue of Insight, our monthly newsletter for Compuware customers.  I hope that you have managed to take some time off over the summer and have returned to work fully re-charged.

In this issue, we bring you news that Compuware Changepoint 11 has earned the praise of AMR Research for its ability to track and manage IT investments; a task that is becoming critical as CFOs cast an ever more watchful eye over IT spending.

The developers among you can read how rewriting its application suite in Uniface helped Xtenso to the market-leading position in the Belgian healthcare applications market; while London nightclub the Ministry of Sound has banished bar queues by installing a tabletop drinks-ordering application built with OptimalJ.

In our Quality section, we look at how Czech Post future-proofed the national public tenders website by performance testing for future data and user volumes using Compuware’s Application Performance Assurance solutions.  And those of you responsible for application performance can read a feature article that aims to solve once and for all the problems of ‘finger-pointing’ and ‘passing the buck’ when users encounter applications performance issues.

Finally, in our Enterprise section, we look forward to the International DB2 User Conference, where Compuware will be presenting its performance optimisation tools for the DB2 environment, and you can see a webcast on mainframe performance testing.

As always, I hope that you enjoy this issue of Insight and find it useful.  We would love to receive your feedback, comments and questions, so please don’t hesitate to email us here.

Best wishes

Pete Summers, EMEA Marketing Director.

Solve user problems – without the finger-pointing
No developer can foresee all of the issues that users will encounter with the application in the real world.  The next best thing to having a crystal ball is to install performance management software that looks at application problems from the user’s perspective.
