New products, new strategies, new contacts: CU2006 review

From 6-8 November, the Palais des Congrès in Strasbourg played host to the CU2006 Uniface user conference. 250 delegates converged on Strasbourg from 21 countries across Europe and further afield, including Nigeria, India, Mauritius, Japan, USA, Canada, Hungary and Israel, to name but a few. Many thanks to everyone who attended – we hope you’ll agree it was an excellent event, providing plenty of food for thought, insight into new products and strategies, and networking opportunities.

Highlights of the conference were the  announcement of Uniface 9, the technical sessions and the technical campgrounds, which you rated very highly.  Your feedback to date has been excellent, and we would like to hear more of your comments and suggestions to allow us to plan even more successful events in future.  In the meantime, watch our short video to recapture the flavours of the event – and see if you can spot yourself!

Start playing by the rules

Following last month’s white paper about using OptimalJ to introduce a model-driven approach to your in-house development, this month we bring you an in-depth look at how OptimalJ lets you easily incorporate your organisation’s business rules into your applications. Taking a business rules-based approach with OptimalJ not only makes communications easier with the business, but also enables you to make modifications to processes faster, as the rules are stored at the model level in a central library. The paper outlines how to define and implement both static and dynamic business rules in OptimalJ applications, enabling you to deliver business applications that mirror how your organisation does business – now and in the future.
